My 7 Survival Skills, based on Wagner's writing ... Green bullet points indicate my thinking on how I'm incorporating these skills into my project.
Gamifying ancient Egypt I have developed a "gamified" version of my unit on ancient Egypt, and presented it to my students on our lms (My Big Campus). I developed 3 "quests," using the British Museum Website's Story/Explore/Challenge activities as the base. The quests involve going to the website, doing an activity there, and then showing accountability by doing a "Schoolwork"/assessment on My Big Campus, using a google form to show their decision-making on a trip down the Nile River, and using a google doc to document a scavenger hunt for precious jewels. I have given them the option of doing the quests in any order they choose, and they can work independently or with other students. Students earn Experience Points for completing quests, and will earn badges on classbadges.com.
This is what it looks like on my webpage -- not pretty, but it's a start! Ancient Egypt
